Guttering That Cannot Cope
Overflow in heavy rain, a join that drips onto a path, a downpipe that has come apart, or a box gutter that backs up and puts water into the ceiling. These are the usual complaints, and they are not always a blockage.
Often the cause is capacity or fall. Guttering that was undersized for the roof, or that has sagged so water sits rather than runs, will overflow even when it is completely clean.
Box gutters are the ones that matter most, because they sit inside the roof line. When one of those fails the water goes into the building rather than over the edge of it.
Fix the Cause, Not the Overflow
We work out why it is failing before we fix it. That might be re-forming a box gutter with proper falls, replacing a sump or rainhead that cannot pass the volume, re-hanging a sagged run, or replacing a damaged downpipe.
Where the guttering is simply finished rather than faulty, we will say so, because a repair to rusted-through guttering is money wasted.
