No. We are metal roofing and roof plumbing specialists, so we do not repair, re-bed or re-point tile roofs, and we do not do roof restoration or painting. We do replace tiled roofs with new metal roofing.

How do you find where a leak is actually coming from?

Water often enters a long way from where it shows up inside, so we start on the roof and work back from the stain rather than guessing. Most leaks turn out to be at a junction, a penetration or a valley rather than in the middle of a sheet.

Is it better to repair or replace?

If the deterioration is localised, repair. Once it is general across the roof, or you are fixing a new leak every winter, you are paying repeatedly for a roof that needs replacing. We inspect it and tell you which situation you are in.

Do you do emergency repairs?

No. We are not a 24 hour emergency service and repairs are booked in as scheduled work. If your roof is actively leaking, get in touch and we will let you know the earliest we can get someone out to look at it.

Will a repair match the rest of the roof?

On a roof that is not too old we can usually match the profile and get close on colour. On a roof that has faded over decades a new sheet will look newer than what is around it, and we will tell you that before we do the work rather than after.

Metal Roof Repairs

Metal roofs fail from the fixings and the laps outward. Screws back out or their washers perish, laps open up, and sheets get damaged by a branch or by someone walking where they should not. All of that is repairable in sections on a roof that is otherwise sound.

Roof Leak Repairs

A leak is a symptom. The work is finding the entry point, which is usually a flashing, a penetration or a valley rather than the sheet itself. Sealing over the inside of a leak does nothing; the water is still getting into the roof.

Rusted Roof Repairs

Rust starts where water sits: laps, valleys, behind flashings and around fixings. Caught early, the affected sheets come out and new ones go in. Left long enough, the corrosion is through the sheet and across the roof, and replacement becomes the better spend.

When Repair Turns Into Replacement

There is a point where the repairs stop being worth paying for. If you are on your third leak in three years, the honest advice is to replace the roof rather than keep patching it, and we will give you that advice even though a repair is the easier sale.
