Yes, and that is a common request on renovations. Cladding a new extension or an upper storey while leaving the original brick or weatherboard is a deliberate look, and it also avoids trying to match old materials.
Both weather rather than stay as installed. Copper darkens and eventually develops a green patina, and zinc dulls to a soft grey. That change is usually the reason the material was chosen, but it is worth knowing before you commit to it.
Yes, and it usually makes sense to. The junction between a roof and a clad wall is exactly where water gets in, so having one company detail both sides of it removes the gap where problems normally start.
Compared with rendered or painted finishes, yes. Colorbond in particular is designed to hold its finish for a long time with no more than an occasional wash. It is not maintenance free, but it is close.
