Cladding That Has Had Its Day
Cladding gets replaced for one of three reasons. It has been damaged, it has corroded where water sits at the base and behind the flashings, or it simply looks dated and is dragging the whole building down with it.
The problem with the first two is that the damage is rarely only in the sheeting. Water that has been getting behind cladding for years has usually been working on the wrap and sometimes the framing.
Which is why replacing cladding is not a matter of unscrewing the old and screwing on the new.
New Cladding, and the Detail Behind It
We strip the existing cladding and check what is behind it before anything new goes on, because the wrap and the framing matter as much as the sheeting. Anything that needs attention is shown to you before it is dealt with.
Then the new cladding goes on in the material and profile you choose, with the corners, openings and roof junctions flashed properly. That is the part that determines whether you are doing this again in fifteen years.
