The frame is assessed for its reduced load, with engineering and a permit arranged if the house needs them.

Not every old roof has to come off. Where the sheeting is sound we repair flashings, valleys, penetrations and fixings, and replace individual sheets that have gone. On a roof that may contain asbestos we will not cut, drill or disturb the sheeting for a repair, and we will set out the options instead.

Guttering on an old roof is usually the same age as the roof and in much the same condition. We replace and repair gutters, box gutters, fascia covers, rainheads and downpipes, sizing them for the roof area they serve rather than copying undersized originals. Gutter cleaning is not something we do.
