Metal Roofing and Roof Plumbing in Kilsyth

We are a metal roofing company based in Rowville, which puts Kilsyth a short drive from the yard. The team brings more than 30 years of combined roofing experience to it.

Repairs, full re-roofs in Colorbond, tile roofs converted to steel, and new roofs on extensions and new builds are all work we take on here. Gutters, box gutters and downpipes are assessed and replaced with the roof rather than left for later.

Kilsyth sits across a council boundary, and we cover it from either side with no difference to how the job runs. Contact us to book a comprehensive roof assessment.

Why Choose Us

What Backs Up the Work in Kilsyth

Steel roofing and roof plumbing is the only trade we practise, and more than 30 years of combined experience sits behind the team. Specialising this narrowly is what lets us be sure about the details that decide whether a roof leaks.

We are insured, licensed and Master Plumbers members, and licensed to remove asbestos roofing and manage compliant disposal. Colorbond installed to specification carries the manufacturer backed warranty, and we install it that way.

The business works at both ends of the scale, from one suburban roof to long industrial sheeting runs, so very little turns up that we have not dealt with before. 25 Google reviews average 5.0.

What Our Customers Say

  • Avan Barker Google Review

Alex, Ben and Daniel are fantastic to work with. We recently had a full roof replacement done, including the installation of 10 skylights, and couldn't be happier with the result. The quality of their workmanship really stood out; everything was done neatly and professionally. The skylights were fitted perfectly, and the whole roof looks fantastic. You can tell these guys take real pride in their work and pay attention to the details that matter.

Common Questions

Roofing in Kilsyth

  • Yes. Kilsyth straddles a council boundary and we work there regardless of which side your address falls on. We are based in Rowville, which is close by.

  • No. Surface rust on an otherwise sound sheet is a different thing from a sheet that has corroded through, and rust usually starts at the laps, the fixings and the valleys. If it is contained we repair it. If it has spread across the roof, replacement is the honest recommendation.

  • We get on the roof and go over the sheeting, the flashings, the valleys, the penetrations, the fixings and the drainage, then explain what we found. After that you get a fixed written quote setting out the scope and the materials. Nothing is priced from the ground or from a photo.

  • Yes. They are metal roofs with the same flashings and the same drainage problems as a house, usually with easier access. Tell us what else is on the property and we will assess the lot in one visit.

  • No. We are not a 24 hour service and repair work is scheduled. If water is coming in now, contact us and we will give you the earliest we can get someone up there to assess it.

  • Across Maroondah, so Croydon, Croydon Hills, Heathmont, Park Orchards, Ringwood and Warranwood, and into the councils on either side of the boundary.

Roof Replacement and Re-Roofing

A Kilsyth roof replacement begins with taking the old covering off, which is the only way to see what the frame, the battens and the drainage are really like. Sagging timber, soft battens and fixings pulling out are the usual finds, and dealing with them while the roof is open is far cheaper than returning to them. New Colorbond, new flashings and new fixings then go on across the whole roof. One contract covers it, at the price in the written quote.

Tile to Metal Conversions

Converting a tile roof to steel takes several tonnes off the frame, so it is a structural job rather than a change of covering. Where the house needs an engineer to look at the frame, or a building permit before work starts, we arrange that as part of the project. The tiles and battens are removed and carted away, and the new steel roof goes on with fresh guttering. Once it is done there is no bedding or pointing to come back to.

Roof Repairs

Rust is what brings most Kilsyth repair enquiries in, and where it starts tells us a lot. Laps, fixings, valleys and the bottom edges of sheets go first, and all of those can be dealt with on a roof that is otherwise sound. Flashings at chimneys and wall junctions are the other common culprit. What matters is being told honestly whether you are buying years or buying time.

Gutters, Box Gutters and Downpipes

Water has to leave a roof somewhere, and when the guttering cannot carry it the damage shows up in the eaves, the walls and eventually the ceiling. We check fall, joins, stop ends, rainheads and whether the downpipes are sized for the area above them. Gutters, box gutters and downpipes are installed, replaced and repaired as part of our work in Kilsyth. Clearing them out is not something we do.

Metal Cladding

Metal cladding puts roof grade material on a wall, in Colorbond steel or in zinc, copper and aluminium. It is a practical answer on an extension or an outbuilding, where it goes on quickly, needs little upkeep and does not try to imitate what is already there. We install it on its own or alongside a roofing job.

Commercial Roofing

Industrial roofs are a substantial part of what we do, and the large spans and the height involved are normal for us rather than an occasional job. Access, lifting and safety are planned before anyone goes up, and the work is staged so the building stays usable and watertight. Factories, warehouses, workshops and shops all fall inside this, and the larger jobs take us well outside Melbourne. Sheeting and the full drainage system come under one scope.
