Swapping tiles for steel drops a large amount of weight off the roof frame, which makes it a structural job rather than a change of covering. Depending on the house that can mean an engineer looking at the frame and a building permit, and we arrange both. The tiles go away on our trucks and the new Colorbond roof goes on over renewed battens.

Roof Repairs
Repairs are worth doing on a roof that still has life in it, and plenty do. The usual offenders are the joins: chimney and wall flashings, valleys that have rusted out under leaf litter, and screws that have backed out and left the washers doing nothing. We replace those sections and leave the sound sheeting alone.
Gutters, Box Gutters and Downpipes
Guttering is where a lot of damage starts, usually because the joins have rusted or the downpipes cannot carry what the roof sends them. We replace gutters, box gutters, rainheads, downpipes and fascia, and we size the system for the roof area feeding it rather than copying whatever was there. Cleaning gutters is not something we take on.

Cladding uses roofing steel on a wall, so it weathers the way the roof does and needs about as much looking after. Extensions and upper levels are where it earns its keep, because a new wall rarely matches an old one convincingly. Along with Colorbond we work in zinc, copper and aluminium.
