Metal Roofing and Roof Repairs in Beaconsfield

Metal roofing is what we do, out of a yard in Rowville, and Beaconsfield is well within reach of it. The team between us has built up more than 30 years of roofing experience.

For a Beaconsfield house that can mean a leak traced and repaired, a rusted roof replaced in Colorbond, a tile roof stripped and rebuilt in steel, or a new roof on an extension. Gutters, box gutters and downpipes get done with the roof, not after it.

The useful part of an assessment is usually the answer to one question, which is whether you are repairing this roof or replacing it. Contact us to book a comprehensive roof assessment.

Why Choose Us

Metal Roofing Is the Whole of What We Do

We work in steel and nothing else, so tiles, slate and general building are not on our list. More than 30 years of combined experience has gone into the one trade, and Beaconsfield is part of the area we cover from Rowville.

Jobs run from a single re-roof on a suburban house up to warehouse and factory roofs, with commercial work taking us across Victoria. Whatever an old roof is hiding when the covering comes off, it is unlikely to be new to us.

We are licensed and insured, members of Master Plumbers, and licensed to remove asbestos roofing and manage the disposal. 25 customers have rated the work 5.0 on Google.

What Our Customers Say

  • Dylan Peterson Google Review

I couldn't be happier with Alex and the whole VIC Metal Roofing team! They replaced our old rusted and leaking corrugated iron roof with a new Colorbond one, and the difference is night and day. It looks phenomenal now and the stress when it rains is gone. The team were fantastic from start to finish. Very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions.

VicMetal Roofs have done an incredible job re-roofing our 50 year old roof. It was a complicated job and we are so happy with the end result. Ben and Alex were great to deal with, professional, excellent communication and a competitive price. We are really happy and highly recommend this business. Great work Ben and Alex

  • Avan Barker Google Review

Alex, Ben and Daniel are fantastic to work with. We recently had a full roof replacement done, including the installation of 10 skylights, and couldn't be happier with the result. The quality of their workmanship really stood out; everything was done neatly and professionally. The skylights were fitted perfectly, and the whole roof looks fantastic. You can tell these guys take real pride in their work and pay attention to the details that matter.

Common Questions

Roofing in Beaconsfield

  • Yes. Beaconsfield is in the Shire of Cardinia and we cover the shire from our base in Rowville. Houses, units and commercial buildings are all work we take on.

  • It comes down to how much life is left in the sheets and how many times the roof has already been patched. If the corrosion is local and the rest of the sheeting is sound, repairing is the better spend. If the same leaks keep returning, you are paying for a replacement in instalments.

  • Yes, and conversions are one of our most common jobs. Removing the tiles takes a lot of weight off the roof frame, which makes it a structural change, so engineering input and a building permit are sometimes needed. We work out what applies to your house at the assessment.

  • We are licensed to remove asbestos roofing and to manage compliant disposal, so it stays within the same job rather than becoming a separate contractor. It does change the method and the cost, which is why we identify it at the assessment rather than on the first day.

  • Yes. Gutters, fascia, downpipes and box gutters can be replaced on their own. If the roof above them is close to the end of its life, we will say so, because doing both at once saves setting up the access twice.

  • The whole Shire of Cardinia, with Beaconsfield Upper, Officer and Pakenham closest, and we work through the adjoining councils including Casey and Knox. Send through an address and we will confirm it.

Roof Replacement and Re-Roofing

By the time most people call about a replacement, the roof has already had a repair or two and the question is what the job will involve rather than whether it is needed. The answer depends on what is under the covering, which is why we get up and look instead of pricing from the driveway. Then the old sheets come off, the frame and battens are sorted while they are exposed, and the new Colorbond goes on with new flashings.

Tile to Metal Conversions

A tile conversion is a bigger piece of work than swapping metal for metal, because taking the tiles off changes what the frame is carrying. That can bring in an engineer and a building permit, and we coordinate those along with the carpentry. Worth deciding early is the look, since the profile and the colour change the proportions of a house more than people expect.

Roof Repairs

On a roof with life left in it, the leaks almost always come from the junctions rather than the open sheeting. Chimney flashings, the point where a lower roof runs into a wall, corroded valleys and tired penetrations are all repairable without touching the rest of the roof. We will also tell you when a repair is only buying time, so the money goes where it is useful.

Gutters, Box Gutters and Downpipes

Rusted joins, box gutters without enough fall and downpipes sized for a smaller roof than the one above them are what we find most often. All of it is replaceable, and on a box gutter the fix has to address the fall and the sizing rather than only the holes. Gutter cleaning is not a service we offer, so that part stays with someone else.

Metal Cladding

Where a rear addition or a second storey meets the original house, cladding gives you a clean junction without hunting for matching bricks. Colorbond keeps it quiet and consistent with the roof, while zinc and copper are there when the design wants the wall to stand out. We install all of them and detail the flashings where cladding meets roof.

Commercial Roofing

Shops, consulting suites, childcare centres and industrial units all need roofing, and for commercial jobs we work Victoria wide. The roofing itself is not very different from a house, but the staging is, because the building has to keep operating while the work goes on. We close the roof up at the end of each day and deal directly with the owner or the facilities manager.
