Metal Roofing in Coldstream
We are a metal roofing company based in Rowville and we travel out to Coldstream, which sits in the Shire of Yarra Ranges. Between us the team has more than 30 years of combined roofing experience.
What that covers in Coldstream is repairs, re-roofing in Colorbond, tile to metal conversions, roofing on new builds and extensions, and the gutters, box gutters and downpipes that go with any of it. Sheds and outbuildings are part of the same work as the house.
Older roof sheeting is sometimes asbestos cement, and we are licensed to remove it and manage the disposal. Contact us to book a comprehensive roof assessment.

Thirty Years of Roofs Behind Every Quote
The team has more than 30 years of combined experience in metal roofing and roof plumbing, and it is the only work we take on. That is why we are comfortable quoting a shed, a house and a factory off the same visit.
We are licensed and insured and we are members of Master Plumbers. Our own asbestos removal licence means a cement sheet roof can come off and a new steel roof go on without a second contractor being brought in.

What Our Customers Say
- Dylan Peterson Google Review
I couldn't be happier with Alex and the whole VIC Metal Roofing team! They replaced our old rusted and leaking corrugated iron roof with a new Colorbond one, and the difference is night and day. It looks phenomenal now and the stress when it rains is gone. The team were fantastic from start to finish. Very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions.

Alex of Vic Metal Roofing recently replaced all the flashing on our garage roof and chimney to due to water leakage to meet current standards. The results exceeded our expectation, excellent workmanship, professional customer service and informative on the solution. Communications throughout the process from quotation to the works carried out was clear and concise. Also left everything neat and tidy. Based on our recent experience, we would highly recommend Vic Metal Roofing for their quality, service and overall value for money. 🤗

Roofing in Coldstream
Yes. We travel out to Coldstream and the rest of the Shire of Yarra Ranges from Rowville, and for commercial and industrial work we go Victoria wide.
Yes. We hold our own asbestos removal licence, so the old sheeting comes off under controlled conditions and goes to compliant disposal, and the new steel roof goes on as part of the same job. It is common on older sheds, garages and outbuildings.
Yes, and they are often quoted alongside the house. A shed roof is usually simpler than a house roof, but the fixings, laps and flashings still decide whether it leaks, so it gets detailed the same way.
Sometimes. If the corrosion is confined to a few sheets or a flashing and the rest still has life in it, replacing that section is sensible. Once the laps have opened up across the roof and the fixings no longer hold, patching stops buying time and we will tell you so.
It leaves with us. The old sheeting, the fixings and the offcuts are taken away as part of the job, and the site is cleared rather than left for you to deal with.
No. We are not an emergency service and our repairs are scheduled. If water is coming in, contact us and we will give you the earliest date we can get someone onto the roof.

Roof Replacement and Re-Roofing
A fair share of the roofs we replace around Coldstream are older corrugated or cement sheet, and on those the old covering is the first thing to plan rather than the last. Asbestos cement comes off under our licence and goes to compliant disposal, and metal sheeting is taken away with the rest of the waste. Once the roof is open we look over the battens and the frame and show you what is there before we cover it again. Then the new Colorbond goes down with new ridge, hip and valley flashings.

Tile to Metal Conversions
The part of a conversion that gets overlooked is what the steel is fixed to. Tile battens are spaced for tiles and are the wrong size and spacing for roof sheeting, so they come off with the tiles and new battens go on to suit the profile. That is also when the fixings into the rafters get looked at. Expect a conversion to run longer than a metal to metal replacement, and we put the real timeline in the quote rather than an optimistic one.

Roof Repairs
Corrosion rarely arrives evenly. It starts where water sits, so the bottom ends of sheets, the laps and the valleys go first while the sheets higher up are still in reasonable condition. Replacing the affected sections and the flashings around them is a legitimate repair on a roof with life left. The honest answer is sometimes the other one, and we would rather give you that than take the smaller job.
Gutters, Box Gutters and Downpipes
Where the water goes after it leaves the gutter matters as much as the gutter itself. Downpipes that discharge onto the ground beside a wall, or into a stormwater line that cannot take the volume, cause problems that look like roof leaks from inside. We replace gutters, downpipes and rainheads and make sure the sizing suits the roof area draining into them. Blocked gutters we cannot help with, since cleaning is not a service we run.

Metal Cladding
Cladding turns up on carports, garages, sheds and the walls of additions, wherever a durable finish matters more than a decorative one. Colorbond steel is the usual answer and it can be matched to the roof so the building reads as one thing. For jobs where the finish is the feature we also install zinc, copper and aluminium. The sheets are only part of it, and the battens and drainage behind them are what keep the wall dry.

Commercial Roofing
Industrial sheds, workshops and warehouses are a regular part of our week, and for that work we travel Victoria wide rather than sticking to the suburbs. Large roofs bring their own issues, from purlin condition and skylight sheets through to box gutters that discharge inside the building. We quote the staging as carefully as the sheeting, because the building usually has to keep running. On older sites the existing cement sheet roof comes off under our asbestos licence.
