Carting the tiles away is a job in itself, and it is one people underestimate when they picture a conversion. Several tonnes of tile has to come down, be loaded and be taken off site, and we handle that rather than leaving a stack behind. That weight leaving the frame is also the structural change, which can call for an engineer and a permit before work starts. A conversion runs longer than a metal to metal replacement, and the quote says how long.

Roof Repairs
A repair is the right answer whenever the roof can carry it. Replacing a few corroded sheets, remaking a flashing or renewing a valley gets a sound roof back to watertight for a fraction of a replacement. The thing we are really assessing is whether the rest of the roof will support that work. Fixings get checked at the same time, since perished washers under the screw heads produce leaks that only show in driving rain.
Gutters, Box Gutters and Downpipes
Drainage is sized against the roof, not against what was there before. Verandahs, carports and extensions added over the years push more water into the same gutters and downpipes, and the overflow usually ends up in the eaves rather than over the front. We work out the catchment and size the downpipes to suit it. Gutters, box gutters, rainheads and downpipes are all our work, though clearing debris out of them is not.

On sheds, garages and carports cladding is purely practical, and Colorbond matched to the roof makes the building read as one thing. On a house it does something more considered, giving an addition its own finish rather than a near match to the original walls. Zinc, copper and aluminium are available where the material is part of the design. Whatever the sheet, the battens and drainage behind it decide whether the wall stays dry.
