Tile to Metal Conversions
Steel sheeting needs battens of the right size at the right spacing, and tile battens are neither, so they come off with the tiles. New battens are fixed to the rafters to suit the profile going on, and the fixings into the frame get checked at the same time. Expect dust in the roof space during the strip, since decades of it sits on top of the ceiling, and we take that into account when we plan the work. The weight leaving the frame is the part that can bring in an engineer and a permit.

Roof Repairs
Anything that passes through a roof is a candidate for a leak. Flue collars, vent flashings, aerial brackets, evaporative cooler surrounds and solar mounting feet all break the sheeting, and the detail that seals them is what keeps water out. Those details can be renewed individually on a roof that is otherwise sound. We find and fix the actual source instead of running sealant over the general area.
Gutters, Box Gutters and Downpipes
A downpipe is only as useful as what it discharges into. Water that lands beside a wall, or goes into a stormwater line already at capacity, can cause damage that looks nothing like a roof problem from inside the house. We size the downpipes to the roof area, set the outlets where they will actually drain, and replace rainheads and box gutters where they are the weak point. Gutter cleaning is not among the things we take on.

Metal Cladding
Carports, garages and sheds are the straightforward cladding jobs, where a hard wearing wall matters more than a decorative one. Colorbond steel does that well and can be matched to the roof above. On houses the same material does a different job, giving an addition its own treatment rather than a near match to the original brick. Zinc, copper and aluminium are also available where the finish is part of the design.

Larger roofs bring details that houses never do. Translucent sheets that have gone brittle, purlins that need checking before new sheeting is fixed to them, and box gutters discharging inside the building are all normal findings on a warehouse or a workshop. We quote all of that in one scope rather than leaving parts of it to be discovered later. Commercial work takes us Victoria wide, so the location is rarely the issue.
