Metal Roofing and Roof Plumbing in Sherbrooke

We are a metal roofing company based in Rowville, and Sherbrooke is one of the Shire of Yarra Ranges suburbs we work in. More than 30 years of combined roofing experience is behind the team.

The work there covers repairs, roof replacement and re-roofing in Colorbond, and tile to metal conversions. Roofing on extensions and new builds, metal cladding, and the gutters, box gutters and downpipes go in the same scope.

Access and pitch change how a roof is worked on, and both are assessed before anything is priced. Contact us to book a comprehensive roof assessment.

Why Choose Us

The Team on a Sherbrooke Roof

Metal roofing and roof plumbing is all we do and all we have done, with more than 30 years of combined experience across the team. We do not lay tiles and we do not take on general building.

Jobs run from a single storey house to warehouses and industrial buildings, and the commercial side takes us Victoria wide. That spread is why a steep or awkward residential roof is routine rather than a problem to work around.

We are a licensed and insured business, a member of Master Plumbers, and licensed for asbestos roof removal and compliant disposal. Customers have left 25 Google reviews averaging 5.0.

What Our Customers Say

  • Sarah Google Review

We recently had the roof and guttering of our older two story weatherboard home replaced by Ben and Alex from Vic Metal Roofing, due to water leaks. The entire project was completed to a very high standard, and the results exceeded our expectations. Ben and Alex provided quality workmanship and clear communication, explaining all the issues and solutions in detail from the initial quote through to completion. Based on our experience, we highly recommend Vic Metal Roofing.

  • David Ball Google Review

Highly recommend Alex and his team. He took the time to inspect the project and find out what I needed before making his recommendations. Excellent communication and project management he kept me informed of project start date, turned up on time, and kept a tidy worksite. Excellent quality of work, and took the time to customise the fitting and installation due to the quirky nature of my home.

Ben and Alex were very professional to deal with. They were both lovely in all my communications, reliable and got the work done quickly and to a great standard. It was such a breeze from inital quote to final installation. Thank you!!

Common Questions

Roofing in Sherbrooke

  • Yes. Sherbrooke is in the Shire of Yarra Ranges and we travel to it from Rowville. Send through the address and we will book an assessment.

  • It can, because pitch changes the access equipment and the time a job takes. We assess that before quoting and allow for it, which is better than discovering it on the first morning and raising it then.

  • Valley irons, usually, and on an older roof they are often well gone because nobody has seen them since the house was built. That is frequently the real reason a tile roof leaks. A conversion replaces the whole system at once rather than treating the symptom.

  • Yes. The apron, the step flashings and the back gutter behind a chimney are a self contained piece of work, and remaking them properly is a standard repair on a roof that is otherwise sound.

  • Yes. Halls, schools, churches and other community buildings are regular work, and the main constraint is that the building stays in use. We quote the staging and the safety planning along with the roofing.

  • All of the shire, with Kallista, Olinda, Ferny Creek, Tremont and Belgrave nearby, plus the councils bordering the shire.

Roof Replacement and Re-Roofing

Access is the first thing we work out on a replacement, well before the sheeting. Pitch, height, two storey sections and how close a vehicle can get all decide what equipment is needed and how long the job takes, and getting that wrong is what turns a tidy program into a stalled one. Once we are set up, the roof comes off in sections and goes back on with new cappings, valleys and wall flashings. The battens and frame are inspected and priced while they are open.

Tile to Metal Conversions

The hidden valleys are the usual revelation on a conversion. Tile roofs run valley irons under the tiles, and on an older house they are often corroded through, which explains a leak that re-bedding was never going to fix. Taking the tiles off replaces all of it in one move. The finished look then becomes the decision worth taking time over, because a steel roof changes the proportions of a house, and profile and colour do most of that work.

Roof Repairs

Most repairs are junction work. Chimney aprons and step flashings, the detail where a lower roof meets a wall, and valleys that have corroded while the sheets either side are fine make up the bulk of what we are called to. All of those are self contained and can be remade without disturbing the roof around them. We locate the source before quoting, since water travels along battens and rafters before it drops.

Gutters, Box Gutters and Downpipes

Box gutters are the ones that cause real damage, because they sit inside the roof line and send water through the building. Fall, width, the rainhead at the end and an overflow provision all have to suit the roof area above, and sealant does nothing for a box gutter that was undersized when it was built. We replace and repair box gutters, eaves gutters, rainheads and downpipes, and colour match the new guttering to the roof where that matters.

Metal Cladding

Gable ends and upper walls are the hardest parts of a house to maintain, because every repaint means scaffold. Cladding them in steel removes that recurring job and relates the wall to the roof above it. Behind the sheets, the battens and the drainage plane are what keep the wall dry, so we install those properly rather than fixing straight onto the existing surface. Colorbond, zinc, copper and aluminium are all options.

Commercial Roofing

Halls, schools and community buildings have to stay available, which makes the staging the hardest part of the job rather than the roofing. We quote the sheeting in sections, close the roof at the end of each day, and set the program around when the building is occupied. Safety planning, edge protection and keeping people clear of the work zone are organised in advance. Roof sheeting, box gutters, rainheads and downpipes all come under one scope.
