Tile to Metal Conversions
The maths on a tile roof eventually stops working. Re-bedding and re-pointing buys a few years, then the same job comes around again, and each round costs money without changing what the roof is. Converting to steel replaces the whole weatherproofing system instead, and it is work we do regularly. The tiles and battens are carted away, the frame is assessed for the weight coming off it, and the new roof goes on with new guttering.

Roof Repairs
The first thing to establish on a leak is where the water is actually getting in, which is almost never directly above the stain. Water lands on a sheet, runs down a batten, crosses a rafter and drops wherever gravity decides, sometimes metres from the entry point. That is why a leak that only shows up in driving rain is worth investigating properly rather than guessing at. We work back from the inside to the outside until the source is found.

Guttering gets judged on appearance and should be judged on capacity. Metal cladding is most useful where maintaining a painted wall is awkward, which usually means upper levels, additions and anything hard to reach. It also lets a new part of a building sit beside the old part honestly instead of pretending to match it. We install Colorbond steel, and zinc, copper and aluminium where the finish is the point. Shopfronts and commercial facades are part of the same work.
